Two-Day Certificate Course in Critical Incident Response & Peer Support

We are excited to present a comprehensive two-day certificate course specifically designed for first responder agencies. This training equips emergency responders with the knowledge and skills to provide peer support and critical incident response services within their agencies, fostering resilience and strengthening overall well-being.

Day One: Understanding Stress and Critical Incident Response
The first day of the course will explore the history and evolution of peer support and critical incident response. Participants will gain insights into the unique stressors experienced by first responders, develop cultural competence, and understand the core concepts of stress management and peer support models. Through interactive sessions, attendees will examine the diverse forms of stress within first responder culture, highlighting the distinctions from those encountered in civilian life.

Day Two: Practical Application of Peer Support & Response
The second day will focus on the practical aspects of providing peer support and responding effectively to critical incidents. Emphasis will be placed on self-care and resilience, with guidance on building sustainable peer support structures within agencies. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises, gaining experience in providing crisis intervention and peer support to individuals, groups, and organizations navigating challenging circumstances.
